Logitech - Comfort Lapdesk review
tidy way to make notebooks more comfortable to use in the home

This may be because of the heat generated by the various components, which will then transfer through to your legs, or because of back and neck strain from squinting down at the screen from an awkward angle.
Logitech's Comfort Lapdesk is designed to specifically address these problems, but with no particularly interesting attachments or extras visible, first impressions were that this is just a slab of white plastic glued to a cushion.
In essence that's exactly what it is, but luckily the design is effective enough to suggest that Logitech has a rather appealing product on its hands.
The white plastic surface is gloss-finished (think Macbook), thick enough to offer sturdy support and viscid enough to combine with the rubber feet on the bottom of a laptop to prevent it sliding around. Logitech claims that it'll seat models with up to a 17-inch display quite comfortably, though at a push it may hold larger provided the rubber supports aren't placed right at the edge of the base.
This surface is actually raised at a 12-degree angle from the air-mesh cushion, which may seem strange considering how adjustable notebook screens are, but actually contributes quite nicely to comfort. It felt more natural to use a notebook at this angle than when placed flat on a lap and we're confident that Logitech's claims of it helping to avoid neck or back strain have not been overstated.
In addition, it does seem to absorb and disperse heat effectively and after using it for over an hour, which is typically around the time a lap starts getting a bit too hot, it was comfortable enough for us to continue without having to take a break.
The angled design also means that it'll stand on its end and so can be tucked tidily alongside a chair or sofa for easy access. And, despite feeling very sturdy, it is also extremely lightweight.
Verdict
We were actually quite surprised that such a simple design could be so effective at improving comfort levels and dispersing heat generated while using a notebook. The Comfort Lapdesk would benefit anyone that sits with a computer for any length of time and even at £29.99, which sounds a lot for what it is, it offers enough of an advantage to justify the cost.
