Midway has announced that X360 owners won't have long to wait before sampling the joys of Unreal Tournament 3. It will be available for the console at some stage this summer.

The acclaimed first-person shooter is already out on the PS3 and PC, and has shifted more than a million units worldwide to date. "We're very excited to be bringing Unreal Tournament 3 to Xbox 360," commented Mark Rein, Vice President of developer Epic Games. "Unreal Tournament 3 is a great fast-paced game with spectacular environments, weaponry and vehicles. Its comprehensive multiplayer offerings are truly going to shine on Xbox Live."

The X360 version is set to feature some exclusive content. There will be two new characters and five fresh maps, along with a split-screen option, so the multiplayer action won't be limited to those with Xbox Live accounts.
