Still supporting the scanner market long after many others have headed for the hills, Epson has confirmed the release of its latest A4 flatbed device, the GT-1500.

It's targeting this one very much at the business market - although the price of a VAT-exclusive £270 may bring it into the reach of some home enthusiasts, too - and as such it features a 40-document auto sheet feeder. It can then scan 18 pages of mono content in a minute, and up to 12 pages of colour.

The unit also comes bundled with Epson's EpsonScan 3.4 software, which includes advanced features such as auto de-skew (great name for a feature, that), RGB colour drop out and searchable PDF. Also, there's no warm-up time when you switch the scanner on, as it's ready to burst into life straight from the off.

It's set for release in June.
